Could anyone let me know if they know of the laws concerning where you can play paintball? For example can you play on crown land, or does it have to be personaly owned? It would be also be helpful if someone could point me to a place where I could find these laws. Thanks.

Hmm the best guy to ask (I think) would be Spencer he always seems to know this stuff. I will be heading into hardcore paintball today and I will ask Gary as well.

I think crown land is just fine (that's where we always play). Just not park land or anything like that. That being said I really have no idea so I will ask around.

Private land does have an advantage over crownland you can close it of to the public during events so you can play. And your bunkers can be put in and do not have to be removed from the field each time. Crownland there is no guarantee you can use it each and every time you want to.

We have been told by forestry that we can play on crown land. There are a few things to always keep in mind when playing on crown land.

Always clean up after yourselves leaving garbage behind is against the law and can result in a fine and jail time as Madviking's last thread shows.

It is better to use natural building supplies than bringing in things. For best relations try to make it so that if someone was to walk through a field when there is no paintball happening they would not notice it is a paintball field at all.

As Lucas has said do not play in a park or wildlife sanctuary or other protected area.

Another thing to ensure is that you are not playing in an area with a pre-existing lease. Crown land can be leased out and there are restrictions depending on what kind of lease for example there is an exclusive recreation lease this grants the leasee full and exclusive rights to use that area.

One last thing is if the area you are looking at playing in is a high traffic area you should reconsider. Less people the better. And also stay away from active logging areas.

Where are you from? We may know of a group or field near you.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info guys. I was just curious to know if I would be breaking the law by playing on crown land. I looked through a few of the acts and couldn’t find anything specific about what you could and couldn’t do on crown land, unless you were using it for commercial purposes.
Thanks for the invite as well, I might come out to a game right now just working a lot of weekends so hard to get out. I live in Vernon as well, the only fields I know of are bushwackers and safari ridge, probably going to head out to bushwackers this weekend.
